BCRP Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Here at the BCRP,

we serve a multi-cultural community and we believe that healthcare can be a powerful platform for social change. We know that diversity and inclusion are critical to sustaining and strengthening our tradition of excellence both at Boston Medical Center and at the BCRP.

We strive to create a positive workplace and learning environment where diversity is celebrated and inclusion is a reflex not merely an initiative. This means developing and cultivating diversity of thought, perspective, and experience. This also means creating an atmosphere of empathy, understanding, and respect necessary to continue personal growth and to provide exceptional care to patients who's background and experiences differ from our own.

Our commitment to our BCRP family, is that each member of the BCRP feels that they can bring their full selves forward and be a truly engaged and valued individual throughout their clinical training. That as a program we can masterfully celebrate and engage in our differences whether grounded in race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, religious affiliation, ability, socioeconomic status, philosophical beliefs, or life experience.

Our commitment to our community, is to do more than merely assemble a diverse group of physicians: we aim to teach the skills, model the behaviors, provide the resources, and cultivate the environment of inclusion that is required to provide excellent patient care, spark healthcare innovation, motivate social responsibility, and drive social change.

To that end there is a lot happening here! Please reach out to one of the Diversity Chief Residents if you have questions about how to get involved!
